SmithGroup Projects Honored with 2026 NIRSA Outstanding Facilities Awards

SmithGroup is proud to celebrate two projects recognized in the 2026 NIRSA Outstanding Facilities Awards, which honor innovative collegiate recreation and wellness environments that elevate student wellbeing and campus life.

University of Texas at Dallas – Comets LANding: This 16,000-square-foot esports facility is one of the largest of its kind in the nation. With more than 100 PCs, a competition arena and a full broadcast and production suite capable of streaming across major platforms, it sets a new benchmark for collegiate esports environments.

Texas A&M University–Victoria – Health & Wellness Center: As the university’s first dedicated recreation facility, this center establishes a defining presence on campus. It enriches student life, strengthens community connection and creates a welcoming gateway that reflects TAMU–Victoria’s growth.
