"For the people who will inhabit the buildings, I strive to make their lives better through designs that are beautiful and inspiring. And I believe we have a responsibility to leave as minimal an impact on our environment as possible,” she remarks. "Every project has a set of parameters that challenge me to find where the opportunities lie." Bonita credits her father, a chiropractor and nature lover, for teaching her the importance of healthy living and the correlation between health and the outdoors. The message still resonates. Bonita’s favorite building? "A tent," she responds. "It represents a connection to nature, living minimally, and waking with the sun."
