Marc Moura

Marc Moura Headshot Principal

Marc can still remember the atmosphere of the architecture studio he visited as a child when his parents were planning an addition to their home. “The desk, the pencils, the drawings, the models, the lighting…I fell in love,” he recalls fondly. The scale of the projects and the technologies have certainly evolved for Marc, yet he remains entranced by the roots of the profession. “It’s all about storytelling and going back to the basics: composition, proportions and simplicity,” he remarks, adding, “and constant research! You always need to be ahead.” Marc remains drawn to the purity of a sketchbook and an Alvin DraftMatic mechanical pencil. "To truly understand scale and dimension we must start with drawing, then comes the technology." He plays the saxophone and once considered culinary school. Marc credits his success to his mentors, beginning with his parents, “for allowing me to be creative,” he says. Mentorship is very important to Marc, “you must train the next generation, not only are you helping them, but they are helping you as well."
