To keep up with its success, the company wanted to establish a new 20-acre mixed-use campus on top of an old industrial site. The essentially small city will contain a research and development center that will not only provide a 200-meter high office tower, but also house a training center, state-of-the-art residential quarters for employees, and amenities such as dining, retail and fitness.
Organized by a series of “neighborhoods,” the campus provides a thriving live-work-play environment with views of the neighboring mountains to the north. To accomplish the client’s vision of showcasing its high tech empire through architecture, the design team delivers finely crafted buildings primarily using steel and glass. These buildings offer a high level of technology in sun shading and finely crafted detail.
Given the high density of people who would be accommodated within the center, creating community and connectivity was key, and is thus manifested in outdoor gathering spaces, such as a reflecting pond, and walkable venues including an elegantly landscaped elevated walkway between major buildings.
