Gregg Kalba

As a project manager in SmithGroup’s growing Houston office, Gregg says, “My vision is to support everyone to play their part in the success of a project and grow skillsets that can be implemented on the next project. I completely recognize that I am working with the future firm leaders.” Gregg acknowledged his own professional growth when he was tapped for a project by his alma mater, the University of Houston. “At this point, I had already gained a command of complex, sizable projects,” he explains. “But when the client is the institution where you earned your professional degree, not only is it a great honor, but you see the full circle completed. It tied back to why I chose this career path in the first place.” Gregg declares that he makes a fine homemade pizza and knows just how to burn it off, too: A former competitive cyclocross racer, he now enjoys cycling “the hidden, non-traditional and underutilized paths and trails around the Houston area.”
