Randall Daniel

Randall Daniel, Dallas, Senior Principal, Architect, Academic Research, Architecture, Arts Education, Athletics, Recreation & Wellness, Campus Master Plans, Design Thinking, Public & Civic, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)

Randall discovered architecture at the intersection of two subjects he enjoyed in high school: Advanced-placement math and an art class. “For whatever reason, architecture seemed like an unusual channel that would allow me to merge those two sides of the brain,” he says. Now, Randall sees his profession “almost as a calling. What we do really matters, and has an impact beyond our lifetime,” he remarks. “People will spend thousands of hours in the environments we’re designing. We hope they are places of inspiration, comfort, joy and delight.” When the job is done, Randall enjoys traveling with his wife and family, exploring new places or returning to Kauai, a favorite. Another favorite is his 6-string Tobias bass guitar. “She’s a heavy beast, but she sings really sweetly,” he notes.
