SmithGroup Breaks Ground on New Dental College of Georgia in Savannah

A major milestone for dental education and oral health care in Georgia is now underway.

SmithGroup, in partnership with Augusta University, SSOE Group, the USG Board of Regents Facilities Division, the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company and JLL, has officially broken ground on the new Dental College of Georgia (DCG) facility in Savannah.

Located on Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong Campus, DCG Savannah will expand the state’s training capacity, strengthen Georgia’s dental workforce and increase access to care for communities across the region.

The new facility is expected to open in summer 2028.
