SmithGroup Celebrates Opening of Kennesaw State University’s Robin and Doug Shore Innovation Center

The new 70,000 square foot Robin and Doug Shore Innovation Center marks a transformative step in Kennesaw State University’s vision for a more connected, agile and impact-driven research ecosystem. SmithGroup joined the university to celebrate the opening of a facility designed to accelerate discovery and expand interdisciplinary innovation.

Purpose-built for bold exploration, the center brings together four laboratories, a makerspace, two classrooms and workspace for 22 faculty research teams. Its design places diverse disciplines side by side, supported by shared resources, modern computing tools and flexible learning environments that encourage spontaneous collaboration among faculty, students and industry partners.

By uniting related research efforts under one roof, the center creates new opportunities for cross disciplinary problem solving and a culture where ideas move faster and discovery thrives.
