Jame curates the intersection of art, architecture, and audience. "An inimitable advocate for cultural places and their communities," she amplifies public experience through unique inquiry, empathy, and engagement. "I work to flawlessly connect people, places, and the products of our humanity," says Jame. Her career is a balance of making, practice, teaching, and design - all continuously focused on cultural institutions. Originally an artist turned exhibits fabricator, she studied architecture leading to her first tenure with SmithGroup as a designer on the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian. Jame had a once in a lifetime opportunity to serve as a Senior Architect and Exhibit Designer at the National Gallery of Art, where she "designed hundreds of special exhibitions and other projects" before returning to SmithGroup to lead various projects. When not engaging with clients and the public on projects, Jame leads SmithGroup’s National Cultural practice who was ranked as #1 for Museum Architecture in 2023 by the BD+C.
