Kevin Johnson
"Success, to me, is grounded in clarity," states Kevin, who serves as project manager for higher education and institutional clients. "Team management is a group effort that requires consistent buy-in and clear communication among the design team, contractor and client." He finds working with higher education clients to be especially rewarding, allowing him to support the "creation of spaces that positively impact student engagement and improve learning outcomes." Kevin’s approach to leadership and to design is informed by his active curiosity, which has led him to travel the world in order to better understand the ways architecture throughout history can be in conversation with contemporary design principles. Next on the list is Japan. "I would love to see the Ise Shrine, a temple that is rebuilt every 20 years, connected entirely with wood joinery," he reports. "It is symbolic of impermanence, while teaching ancient construction techniques, perhaps one of the most interesting ways to communicate the past to future generations."
